Rick Maizels among worldwide recipients of new Rainin Foundation Awards

The Kenneth Rainin Foundation announced recently that they have awarded $2.9 million for research into Inflammatory Bowel Disease.  This includes, for the first time, grants for diet and nutrition related projects.

Kenneth Rainin Foundation Annual Innovations Symposium

Rick Maizels spoke at the Kenneth Rainin Foundation's Annual Innovations Symposium in San Francisco in July 2015.  The foundation supports cutting edge research projects that work on diagnosing, treating and curing Inflammatory Bowl Disease.  Rick is a foundation grantee.  He was interviewed along with other scientists and researchers on why they attend the event.

Janice Murray's work shortlisted in Spot On Micro Image Contest & Exhibition

Janice Murray has had two images shortlisted in the Spot On Micro Image Contest and Exhibition.

The exhibition is now on at The Royal Botanic Garden of Edinburgh and closes on Sunday 18 October.

All images in the competition are on display and visitors will have the opportunity to vote for the 'People's Prize' catergory.

Rick Maizels and Henry McSorley take part in BBC Radio Cambridgeshire's 'Naked Scientists' Radio Programme

On March 8 both Rick Maizels and Henry McSorley took part in the BBC Radio Cambridgshire 'Naked Scientists' radio programme which was focusing on the topic of the world of parasites that week.

Henry McSorley takes up post at Centre for Inflammation Research

Henry McSorley has been awarded a Chancellor's Fellowship at the University of Edinburgh and is setting up his own laboratory, at the Centre of Inflammation Research, Queens Medical Research Institute at Little France.

Hydra 2014

Gillian Coakley, studying for her PhD jointly between Amy Buck's lab and Rick Maizels' lab, won her second poster prize of 2014 in the poster session at this year's Hydra conference on Molecular and Cellular Biology of Helminths !

ASiT Medal for Transplantation Research

The 2014 Association of Surgeons in Training Medal was awarded to Chris Johnston in Belfast for the presentation: "A Role for Helminths in Achieving Immunological Tolerance".
